Corn, Cucumbers, Squash

The Silver Queen corn planted in Aug has set corn.  Wonder when it will be ready for harvest?  Oh, and with only 2 ears of corn per stalk; I really should have planted more.  And the bush cucumber is growing like mad; and finally flowering female and male; and pollinating little bitty baby cucumbers; which the nasty Lubber Grasshoppers* seem to relish.  Should have planted more cucumber.

So, I visited my pals in the computer at rareseeds.com; ordered and started in paper cups with peat mix:
Lebanese White Bush Marrow Squash x 2 - 50 days hot & dry
Cucumber Yok Kao x 2 - Easy to grow; 5" - will be potted up in the parking pad garden with plastic hardware cloth around the oak tree to support the vine
Mexican Sour Gherkin x 2 - Vigorous, ornamental vine - 70 days - self re-reseeds.  Will be planted along the fence line at the end of the front porch; eastern exposure; part sun; I'll string twine between nails for a trellis.
Stowell's Evergreen Sweet Corn - soaked a doz seeds for an hour and potted up in paper cups with peat mix
