Will work for food, board and puppy fixes ...

BBD rolled into town ready to hug his grandpups and work on his DIL honey-do list.  We spent a busy day and half buying and installing extensions to the front gardens.

The rose arbor got an extension towards the east and has 32' of 4x4 edging ready to go in place after I transplant the bahia that is growing under the arbor.

Then, stain the new section of lattice, repair the old section as needed and dose with a healthy serving of leafs and pine needles.

I pulled out most all the tomato.  One plant is left.  It had bugs, and was fading anyway.  Picked all the green tomatoes and they are pickling right now.

The NE garden has it's backside extension in place now.  4x4 the entire length from the electrical box on the east to the laurel oak on the west.  35 feet of 14" wide garden.  How many eggplants and okra do you suppose we'll be adding???

Luckily, the salad bar put on a growth spurt lately because it got decimated at dusk today.

And, the purty purple egg babies are sure looking happy! It is a nice attractive bush and the eggplants are fun.  Can't wait for next year, we are going to plant a whole.lot.more.

Tonight, we had a first from the yard meal.  Homemade homegrown eggplant Parmesan, with basil and garlic from the garden.  Fresh picked greens from the garden for salad and sugar free banana pudding for dessert.  If all goes well, next year we can repeat this dining adventure with banana's from the garden.

We thought of you BJ!  But we ate your portion.  You might have liked it.  Sure was good!
