A Praying Mantis. One of the many varieties of mantids found in Florida. Which one?
Red Leaf Amaranth. Leaves aren't too tasty. I'm guessing this must be a grain variety? Pretty though.

Speaking of horror flicks, spotted but not pictured. A pair of lubber's doing the deed on our driveway. Rocking from side to side. I didn't take time for a photo. They didn't get the memo about the dastardly heavy duty slip resistant crutch tip.
The scary crutch boss. It's quite deadly.
